Shortening of authorisation period of plant protection products containing prochloraz
Central Control and Testing Institute in Agriculture in Bratislava (hereinafter referred to as the „Control Institute“) informs the holders of authorizations of plant protection products, the parallel trade permit holders and users of plant protection products that the Commission Implementing Regulation No 2021/1450 reduces the approval period of the active substance prochloraz from 31 December 2023 to 31 December 2021. For this reason the Control Institute will amend (reduce) the period of authorisation or of permit for parallel trade of all plant protection products with the authorisation/permit period longer than the approval period of the active substance. Authorization period/ parallel trade permit period for these products will be set for 31 December 2021; existing stocks of plant protection products will be able to be placed on the market until 30 June 2022 and used up to a maximum of 30 June 2023. For ongoing applications for authorization/parallel trade permit, which will be finalised before the end of this year, the new (reduced) approval period of the active substance prochloraz will already be taken into account and plant protection products will be authorized/permitted for parallel trade only until 31 December. 2021. Ongoing proceedings, which will not be finalised by the end of 2021, will be terminated by a negative decision at the beginning of 2022, or stopped, as the active substance prochloraz will no longer be an approved active substance from 1 January 2022. We therefore recommend that the agricultural community take these facts into account when planning the purchase and application of these plant protection products.
