Non-renewal of approval of the active substance S-metolachlor

Central Control and Testing Institute in Agriculture in Bratislava (hereinafter called „the Control Institute“) informs authorisation holders, parallel trade permit holders and users of plant protection products that the approval of the active substance S-metalochlor was not renewed with the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2024/20. As a result of this the Control Institute will withdraw authorizations and parallel trade permits of plant protection products containing this active substance. Authorizations and parallel trade permits of plant protection products containing the active substance S-metolachlor will be withdrawn as of 23 April 2024 while the grace period for sale, distribution, storage, use and disposal will be allowed in accordance with the regulation until 23 July 2024. Control Institute will also adjust the grace period for plant protection products not authorised any more whose the grace period is longer than the deadline given by the above-mentioned Regulation. We therefore recommend the agricultural public to take these facts into account when planning the purchase and application of these plant protection products.
